Maney Publishing specialises in academic journals in materials science and engineering, the humanities, and health science, for learned societies, universities and professional bodies around the world.
Their high-quality print and electronic journals are international in scope and peer-reviewed. They have offices in Leeds and London in the UK, and in Boston and Philadelphia in North America.

Requirements
Maney needed a supplier who could offer both brand and web development, and take them through all stages of these processes. They also needed a partner who could maintain both the brand and the web effectively and efficiently. As Maney publishing has grown, they wanted to move away from their old image as a small publisher and develop a much cleaner corporate look.

What We Did
Spiral began working with Maney in 1999, creating a brand-new identity, and producing various items of corporate literature. In 2004 we created their first online shop and website, and in 2009 rebuilt that website as part of a complete rebranding of logo and all literature.
- New logo, updated look and feel for literature (1999)
- Stationery/leaflets/newsletters for all publications (1999-2005)
- Website with ecommerce (2004)
- Full rebrand (2009)
- New website with ecommerce (2009)
The Spiral Difference
For this full-scale rebrand, we supplied Maney with a range of creative options, each of which allowed the client full control to implement their new brand via their own in-house staff. Our knowledge of the existing brand, and our close working relationship with the client, were instrumental in ensuring the success of the project.
Our strong production values allowed us to produce a range of work that we knew to be compatible not only with Maney’s own day-to-day working methods, but also those of end users and printers.
Results
Maney have grown year on year, and their presence and reputation have grown too - our partnership has grown alongside them. They have come to Spiral time and time again over the last ten years, and trusted us to deliver from the smallest job to major, business-critical branding projects.
